The middle of February is upon us and winter is in full swing. Hopefully, your ski legs are ready for this holiday weekend. This Friday kicks off President's Weekend, and many schools have the whole week off for Ski-Skate Week. This always proves to be one of the most fun winter weeks for families in Tahoe. Not only are the ski conditions great, but there are tons of other fun activities and events planned for families to take advantage of in North Tahoe.
To kick off the weekend in style the Truckee Tahoe Humane Society is hosting their annual fund raiser at the Ritz Carlton “Black Tie and Tails." This is a one-of-a-kind fund raiser as many guests will bring their canine companions. The event is this Saturday, February 13th 5:30-11:00 pm at the Ritz Carlton, Lake Tahoe. Northstar Resort and Squaw Valley both have full calenders of fun events including Sunset Snowshoe tours, Family skate night, Broomball (bring a team of six) and live music. Another exciting activity that has just been added to the list of options is snowcat skiing. That's right, you can now go ski the Tahoe backcountry via snowcat tours!
