Description
Licensed in real estate since 1978, Craig Miller first arrived at Lake Tahoe in the Fall of 1974 with his political science degree from UC Santa Barbara in hand. He soon realized that while a liberal arts degree may carry weight for employment in the big city, resort communities value other talents. Fortunately Alpine Meadows Ski Resort was looking for energetic, hardworking, self-motivated individuals. He was hired on the first day and has remained committed to Lake Tahoe ever since. It is often said that new arrivals come for the winter and stay for the summers. How true it is. While ski resort employment offered rapid upward mobility, it was seasonal and Craig was looking for a more challenging career path. For the next three years he worked for the East Sierra Development Corporation and learned the construction trades, finding himself intrigued with the complexities of real estate development. As their last remaining local employee and project manager, when ESDC returned to Mammoth Lakes he made the decision to remain at Lake Tahoe. A trusted friend and developer recommended he pursue a career in real estate brokerage over general contracting; the rest is history. Upon acquiring his California Broker's license in 1980 he co-founded and was named Managing Broker/Owner of Golden West Realty, a highly regarded boutique firm that developed a reputation for its professionalism, integrity and innovative marketing techniques. These are qualities he continues to value as would be evidenced by his affiliation with Sierra Sotheby's International Realty thirty five years later. In 1995 he obtained his Nevada Broker license for seamless movement across state lines and to better serve the needs of his customer base of highly successful individuals drawn to Lake Tahoe and the unique lifestyle it has to offer. Craig knows that real estate is a "people business" and many past clients remain his closest personal friends. He loves the Art of the Deal, using his decades of experience "living the dream" to subtly sell the dream. Whether buying or selling, you can count on his professional representation in concert with effective marketing and negotiation strategies to help you achieve your real estate goals. From his lakefront home in Tahoe City to his riverfront ranch in Western Nevada, for Craig, water and associated water rights have always been the key component to value, appreciation and enjoyment. Unlike most, Craig understands those issues through firsthand experience as a property owner and will guide you accordingly. He is a current member of the Tahoe Sierra, Incline Village and South Lake Tahoe Boards of Realtors/MLS; has served as Commodore of the Tahoe Yacht Club, remains a founding Friend of the Tahoe Maritime Museum, and has enjoyed his long term membership with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Tahoe Lakefront Owners Association.
